one24worship The one24worship Podcast exists to promote and encourage the daily worship of Jesus Christ. one24worship.com... because worship is a daily lifestyle... not a weekly event! For further information: www.one24worship.com or one24worship@gmail.com
We've been pretty busy around the Guion household, at Alamo City Christian Fellowship and here around the one24worship.com Network.
First off, there's a brand new one24worship.com Journal page for the one24worship.com website. This page has been created as an addendum to the one24worship.com Podcast page - which is currently being re-configured exclusively for podcast posting.
The "Journal" page is now going to be the written outlet arm of the one24worship.com Network.
These are very exciting days for one24worship.com so please stay tuned!
Well, that's it for now!
I just wanted to get the word out concerning some of the changes here atone24worship.com.
And remember - worship is a daily lifestyle... not a weekly event! It's more about how we live and how we love than it is what we sing and how.
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas yesterday and are eagerly awaiting the New Year!
2007 is almost here... WOW!
Kimberly, Carly and I enjoyed a wonderful day together on Christmas - along with my Dad - here in Cibolo, Texas. We built a fire in the fireplace - something that we can usually do only about a half dozen times a year here in south Texas! We opened some presents and then ate a "feast" of a Christmas breakfast - cooked by none other than Chef Dave!
Unfortunately, my brother, Greg, remained in Dallas this year for Christmas. We do hope to see him soon after the first of the year, though.
PODCAST NEWS
Well, I'm attempting to dust the cobwebs off The one24worship Podcast as we enter 2007. Hopefully, there will be a new episode in early January.
Lord willing, the topic of "Prayer" will be a central theme for the first few shows of 2007.
RESOLUTIONS
Like many of you, the beginning of a new year sparks an attitude of "resoluteness" in my life. Most of us will make some plans to start fresh in 2007 on something (or on several things!)
In my mind, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Being resolved to something is a great benefit - especially if we remain reliant upon the Holy Spirit's power to accomplish the resolution.
Jonathan Edwards even recorded his "Resolutions" - though they were not actually "New Year's" Resolutions.
Here are a couple of my "resolutions" for 2007:
Read through the Bible once again - this time, chronologically. Click HERE to download a free PDF of the chronological plan I've chosen. (Additionally, I hope to read the whole book of Proverbs twelve entire times during 2007 - one complete reading of the book each month. There are 31 chapters in the Book of Proverbs - one chapter for each corresponding day of the month. Of course, I'll be reading two chapters for the months that have only 30 days. And then there's always February - but you get the idea.)
Read through Jonathan Edwards' Resolutions weekly - one set of ten "Resolutions" per day. Click HERE to download a free PDF of Jonthan Edwards' Resolutions. (I'll probably rotate forward each set of ten "Resolutions" that I read each week. That way, I won't always be reading Resolutions 1-10 on Sunday, and 11-20 on Monday, and so on. I hope the variety will aid in keeping them "fresh.")
Endeavor to be more diligent in the place of prayer - especially for the nations! (Written on the cover of the 2001 edition of OPERATION WORLD is the following quote: "When we pray, God works." I believe that quote, don't you? During this next year, I'd like for my practice of personal prayer to be more consistent with my belief in the power of prayer by more effectively utilizing this amazing resource, "OPERATION WORLD.") Click HERE to order your own copy of OPERATION WORLD.
Of course, there always remains the standard resolutions like: get more exercise, lose some weight, on and on...
BOTTOM LINE
A fresh start always seems to be a good thing - and indeed it is! So, let's take a risk. Let's don't just sit back and pessimistically say, "It won't last so I'm not even going to start." What have we got to lose?
I mean, the worst that could happen is that we'll read more of the Word of God than if we hadn't at least started; and we'll be reminded of some great thoughts and resloutions from an amazingly God-blessed mind; and our knees will be sore for a couple minutes more for a few days.
(Who knows, we might even lose a pound or two by starting the year off with some exercise and proper eating!)
Anyhow, that's it for now.
Hey, thanks for staying subscribed to The one24worship Podcast network.
Lord willing, I'll see you next year.
Have a blessed New Year's celebration next Sunday night!
David Guion one24worship@gmail.com -- PS - Hey Vardeman... spoken with any more police officers about your music lately? --
Okay - please allow me to answer two quick questions that are bound to be bouncing around the "internets" these days:
First: "No" I'm not dead!
And second: "Yes" I'm still in the "podcasting" business! It's just that, I'm like most folks that I know in the ministry - I'm burning the candle at both ends as the end of 2006 draws near!
For example:
A couple of weeks ago, we had amazing Fall Conference at Alamo City. It was a four-night conference and the speaker was... er... well... the speaker was a guy who died almost nine years ago!
Ten years ago, Alamo City had it's first ever Fall Conference. We've only had two Fall Conferences ever - one in 1996 and one in 1997. And the same person was the guest speaker at both. His name was - Dave Busby.
So, for this third Fall Conference, we simply played the DVD's of that 1996 Fall Conference and prayed that the Holy Spirit would take us from just watching a huge, flat 2 dimensional screen and somehow allow us to sense His presence in the Alamo City Worship Center.
Wow! Did He ever answer our prayer! People really connected with God through Dave's messages each night! It was absolutely amazing!
Then, on Thursday, November 9th, Philip Vega, Jay Dorrough and I led worship at the "Church of the City" Leadership Summit hosted by Tranformation Director, Duke Jonietz.
The Conference was a two-day meeting of area pastors and ministry leaders who are diligently seeking the Lord for revival and transformation in San Antonio, Texas!
Wow, yet again! We worshipped "full-on" as Billy & Cindy led us; we prayed corporately for our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who are even now being persecuted for their faith in Christ; and we listened to Todd & Kelli tell their amazing story!
It was another absolutely amazing night!
And then, finally, last night, we hosted an awesome gathering called, "The Table of Brotherhood." It was a pre-Thanksgiving afternoon and evening of activities between three congregations that had never, ever connected corporately before - The River City Fellowship, The Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and The Alamo City Christian Fellowship!
We got together at Alamo City around 3:30 p.m. for some recreation, and then for an old-fashioned "covered-dish" meal together at 5:30 p.m. and then, at 7:00 p.m., we held a joint worship service!
One more time - wow! Billy Nunez (River City), Sister Johnetta (Antioch) and I (Alamo City) each led worship - which went for almost an hour and a half!
Then, Pastor E. Thurman Walker (Antioch) delivered a strong message from Matthew, Chapter 10. (And be looking for a "Sermon Clip" from that message on a one24worship Podcast very soon!)
Can I say it just once more? It was another AMAZING night!
And now, we're all getting ready for Thankgiving Sunday and then - Christmas! Whew!
But here's my point:
God is doing amazing things in the lives of His people! And as much as I love connecting with each of you through The one24worship Podcast, I love watching God come in transforming power on folks - live and in person - all the more! And it has been such a blessing to see Him come during these days of refreshing, repentance and in a measure of revival!
So, Lord willing, another installment of The one24worship Podcast is coming very soon.
In the meantime, would you please be praying for Kimberly, Carly and me? As we approach 2007, I'm really being drawn to the place of prayer. And not just prayer in general, but prayer specifically for the nations. The Lord Jesus said in John 4, "...I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest." I believe that, don't you?
But here's the thing: There are more than 3.2 billion people who currently live in the 10/40 Window and 95% of them are what we call "unreached." Many have never heard the Gospel message even one time!
Jesus instructed His disciples (and that would be you and me if we are owned by Him as Lord and Savior) to pray in a specific fashion regarding the "unreached." In Matthew 9, Jesus said, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'
So, here's how you can be praying for Kimberly, Carly and me as we approach 2007:
We want to be more "strategic" in how we are joining God in His heart for the nations' worship! So, we are wanting to be more "strategic" in our praying as we're coming out of 2006.
God is up to something in the arena of prayer as it relates to Revelation 7:9-10 and Matthew 24:14.
That's how you can be praying for us!
Okay, I'm done for now. (I probably should have just recorded a podcast instead of posting this entry - I didn't intend to go this long!)
As I said earlier, Lord willing, there will be another episode of The one24worship Podcast coming very soon.

I'm in the process of finishing up my show prep for the next episode of The one24worship Podcast. On this show, I'm planning to play a couple of songs from Derek Webb's brand new CD, "Mockingbird."
But here's an idea:
Before the next one24worship Podcast gets produced and uploaded - please go to this website: http://www.freederekwebb.com/pages/index.aspx Derek (formally of Caedmon's Call) is giving away his newest CD for free! That's right - for free! All you have to do is go to http://www.freederekwebb.com/pages/index.aspx and provide some basic information and then just follow the prompts to download the record - sorry - the mp3 files!
It's really simple.
Derek Webb is one of the most provocative songwriters of our day - kinda like a Keith Green or Rich Mullins. His music will really make you think because he's not afraid to take some risks with his lyrics.
Anyhow, here's my idea:
After you download and have a chance to listen to "Mockingbird," come back here to one24worship.com and post a "Comment" recommending at least two songs that you'd like for me to play on the next one24worship Podcast!
I'll plan to play the two songs with the most recommendations in the "Comments."
Cool?
Hey, thanks so much for listening to and subscribing to The one24worship Podcast!
Have a blessed rest of the week and remember - go to http://www.freederekwebb.com/pages/index.aspx to download "Mockingbird" for free and then come back here to one24worship.com and leave your two songs recommendation in the "Comments."
Thanks everybody!
