There are still a handful of shows left on the Awake and Alive tour and if you haven't been to one of the shows yet, you owe it to yourself to go. We went to the Atlanta show and were blown away by the whole thing. Amazing music and humble hearts -- a combination that you simply can't go wrong with.
Getting to hang out on the bus with Decyfer Down and then backstage with John Cooper were extra perks to a great night that made the 90-mile drive to Atlanta more than worth it.

A big congrats goes out to Erica and Tina (aka Mary Mary) for a win last night at the American Music Awards. They are officially the Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist in America! Personally, I would have much rather seen them perform than seeing Adam Lambert simulating sex with one male dancer, groping one female dancer and kissing his male keyboard player.
The sisters also recently won a Soul Train Award for Best Gospel Performance (airing Nov. 29th). Oh - and did I mention the four nominations for the 2010 Stellar Awards? They are up for Song of the Year - "God In Me," Group Duo of the Year - The Sound, Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year and Urban/Inspirational Single/Performance of the Year - "God In Me."What a way to end a year!
In other Mary Mary news, there is a new remix hiting radio. It's not every day that a mainstream rapper teams up with a gospel group to make music, but that is exactly what Erica and Tina Campbell and Yung Joc did when they released a remix of the popular "God in Me." This song works on so many levels - the talent, the beat, the music and the rap intro - that it appeals to a wide variety of age groups.
After releasing his first Christmas album, Glory In The Highest, (Compare Prices), Chris Tomlin will head out on his first Christmas tour this December with Louie Giglio from Passion, Christy Nockels and new Sparrow Records recording artist Audrey Assad.
Veteran Gospel rapper Benjiman released his sophomore CD, S.K.R.I.P.T. (Spreading Kingdom Realities In Perilous Times), on October 6, 2009 on Save the City Records. This guy has mad talent! I was impressed during my first listen, blown away by the lyrics on my second listen and wowed by the beats on my third. Needless to say, this album is a keeper!
Worship Leaders Shane & Shane are back with another faith-filled and emotional album called Everything is Different. The tight harmonies and catchy, Biblically Based lyrics are everything we've come to expect from Shane & Shane and the lack of extra bells and whistles help their sincerity and passion shine through.
